Comedy Central Live

Project lead for concept development, planning and live implementation of the inaugural Comedy Central Live festival.

Brief was to create a live format of the most popular global comedy TV channel.

Solution was a three-day festival in Southampton featuring all of the top talent from the Comedy Central channel, working in conjunction with Go Southampton. The festival was located in Hoglands park. The site incorporated four impressive tents, the largest was the Comedy Central big top that held 4,000 people seated to watch the three headline shows each day. The CC TV stage hosted live improvised performances of Comedy Central’s most popular shows. The Extras tent showcased up and coming talent. The Unleashed tent was an all-day party with drag super-group Denim. Other elements across the site included a VIP area, food and drink, interactive IP areas including Southpark and the world’s largest bouncy castle that was rebranded as Takeshi’s Castle.

Over 10,000 guests attended over the three days and watched live performances from comedians including Jimmy Carr, Russel Howard, Katherine Ryan and Reginald D. Hunter and live TV shows including Drunk History, Your Face Or Mine and Roast Battle.
