PlayStation Cocktails & Dreams

Oversaw project management of concept development and live implementation.

Brief objective was to create a standout festival brand experience for SingStar that encouraged participation, stood out in a cluttered environment and integrated with the wider PlayStation ‘Sing For Your Summer’ campaign.

Solution was a large 30m x 30m bespoke stand-alone venue called ‘Cocktails & Dreams’ that toured key festivals for two years, known for their party-loving crowd – Glastonbury, Camp Bestival and Bestival.

Disguised behind a mysterious façade of muted palm trees, the space took the best bits of Miami, mixed a touch of Magaluf and added a retractable roof to make the most of the English summer. This created the perfect party environment with SingStar and PlayStation at the heart of the experience.

By day it was a Havana Club cocktail bar, with chill-out spaces, bespoke banquette seating with in-built SingStar technology, private SingStar booths and a live stage for performances.

By night The Cuban Brothers hosted themed house parties hosted featuring special guest appearances from iconic 80’s stars including Vanilla Ice, Belinda Carlisle, Limahl from Kajagoogoo, Katrina and the Waves, T’Pau and Bucks Fizz, all belting out their very own SingStar hits.

The backstage hospitality area hosted numerous VIPs including Kate Moss, Jamie Hince and Jade Jagger. A SingStar cocktail bar setup meant VIPs could perform, boosting key PlayStation press coverage for each activation.

The result was a non-stop queue with over 110k party-goers through the door across the three festivals and over 450 main stage performances from the general public. Cocktails & Dreams became one of the most talked-about venues at Glastonbury, Camp Bestival and Bestival.
